day 2 – friday
so here we go!!! the first day of the festival for real. not much of a lay in, as tents are quite bright in the morning. we lazed for a bit, cooked some breakfast on our stove and for the rest of the day we didn’t really have any plans yet. so we went out in search of a programme to see what the weekend timings would bring. to be honest we spent most of friday wandering the castle filed, the kids garden & the magic meadow and wondering what to do! not even knowing where to start, there was so much to do, so much to choose from, i think we might have been in a little bit of shock!
we saw that the cuban brothers were on the line up and playing on the castle stage, we were very keen to see them. when i first met Mr HPMcQ before i became Mrs HPMcQ, he used to live in west london, the cubans being local fellows we used to see them a quite often. it had been a while, and knew that ronnie would love the show that they put on, so we pencilled that in right away.
the rest of the day we spent it exploring the dingly dell. it was the calmness that we needed after the overwhelming morning of realisation of how big and how many fantastic activities were on offer.
and that was friday
disclaimer: we received family camp bestival 2014 tickets in return for previews and reviews of this year’s festival. we did however pay for our blue bell tent, because actual camping was not an option! either way, it goes without saying we will be honest and our views and opinions will be our own.
And that was just Friday – epic!
so much to do, incredible amounts. now that i’ve done it once i know i can do again so next year will be even more jam packed!
OMG I so want to go next year now. It sounds fantastic. How nice to find that the Cuban brothers were there when there’s such sweet memories attached to them. My son would go wild for that tree!
none of us are good with heights so we looked, we watched and then made our way!
Oh my gosh, I am not a campy festively type at all but a) you make me really wish we’d been at Camp Bestival for all that lovely looking family stuff, and b) you especially make me wish I’d been there so my little T and your little R could have hung out together in the DIngly Dell and become good buddies! x
well maybe just maybe you could plan a blighty visit around next years festival?? R would love to have T as a play buddy in the dingly dell x
Wow so much going on I’m really not sure I’d know where to start!
we didn’t either which is way we are going back for more next year!
Oh my how many things you got to do in just one day!
and that was just a tiny amount in comparison to the whole event, we didn’t even go into one field the whole time we were there!
I’ve avoided festivals in the past but this does look like a lot of fun & glad to hear you could escape into nature when you needed to. Mich x
believe me michelle, unless i could get in and out of festival i would never have gone in the past. this however was totally different.
