day 4 – sunday
so saturday was a little crazy. much fun but crazy. we were all rather sleepy, so we decided why break with what was quickly becoming camping tradition and have a lie in. the day was looking good the sun was in the sky and we had a day of chas and dave, jousting and fireworks ahead of us.
we had seen chas and dave at the royal albert hall earlier this year, and it was a fantastic evening. needless to say they get played a lot at home and in the car, we are big fans. we got there in good time and met with tanya and bruce in the front row! they didn’t disappoint, and rooster appeared to know most the words which really amused me. #proudmum
we saddled over to the jousting to watch the evil black knight play all kinds of tricks on the other knights to make sure he was the winner. ronnie absolutely loved it. knights, horses, shining armour what 5-year-old boy wouldn’t! it was action packed.
after all that fun we headed back over to the feast collective, definately a marker to work our way all the way round this tent next year. fantastic food, fantastic i say.
we went back to the tent to chill for a while as we were super keen to be wide awake for the fireworks and when we trotted back we bumped into gemma and her family, who had given me such wonderful tips to make our first camping trip a success. her husband gave us a few more on the way home too! such pro’s. what a lovely family. gemmas boy slept through most the fireworks and ronnie was far more instrested in the glow sticks gemma had gifted him! oh well, we enjoyed it mind.
and so that was that, we survived, and you know what we actually rather loved it. I KNOW!
disclaimer: we received family camp bestival 2014 tickets in return for previews and reviews of this year’s festival. we did however pay for our blue bell tent, because actual camping was not an option! either way, it goes without saying we will be honest and our views and opinions will be our own.
