you may or may not recall that at the end of last year we were invited to the launch of the sage fast slow pro, a pressure cooker and slow cooker all in one. if you don’t recall and you are vaguely interested you can read about it here. annnnnnyway we are a little in love with our fast slow pro so i thought that it was about time that i also started to share some of the things we’ve cooked in it.

so lets start with keema peas

so let me get things started on the right foot, Mr HPMcQ does most of the cooking in the house, i am better at DIY he is better at cooking. his cooking surpasses my cooking on many many levels, so why fight it, let the man cook. so when we were invited by sage to spend the day trying out many of their wonderous gadgets it was best i took Mr HPMcQ along because he would know what they were talking about and in fairness he was really really excited about playing with the new pressure cooker. ‘i’ve not used a pressure cooker before’ he exclaimed with a slight squeal. i know, each to their own!

what a wonderfully gloriously sunny weekend. the start of spring has well and truly sprung. so what should you do when the sun comes out in the uk? well have a BBQ of course!

deciding what to have on the BBQ was easy peasey, leg of lamb of course, but what for dessert?? i asked Mr HPMcQ what he fancied and he rather surprised me with “actually i quite fancy a swiss roll”

ah never made one of those, hey ho there’s always a first time, so lets go with a raspberry one!

oh me oh my, why did we not know about this before? it only came to my attention last weekend when talking about nigella recipes. i might sound slightly ridiculous but it came highly recommended, so being a lover of all things pig, we popped off to the supermarket and gave it a go!

december is quickly whizzing by and before we know it school will be out for the christmas holidays and then the fun really does begin!

but what about christmas gifts? well this year we are going to cook up a cookie treat. we baked these last year and they didn’t last very long at all, so we are going to make gift bags for the teachers this year full of yummy cookies.
