we have heard people talk about how lovely southwold is, on numerous occasions. we have been to suffolk and norfolk many times but never quite made it. never firmly had it on our agenda. so this bank holiday it was there, firmly on our agenda.

southwold is a charming seaside town with lots of history going way back to 1086 when it’s was listed in the domesday book as a fishing port. in 1659 a fire devastated most of southwold, but this fire was to shape the town, as many of the buildings destroyed were never rebuilt, leaving wonderful open spaces creating village greens.
