a little while ago i posted about stopping to look at the leaves in your garden. well i’m about to do it again. sorry for the repetition folks, but tough, i like a good leaf i do.

the leaves that i bring to you today, are not however from my back garden, as it is small and i have pretty much exhausted those ones already, now that would be repetitive! no, these ones are from my parents garden. they have a fabulous garden. full of very different and interesting plants, plants from a much hotter and humid climate. much more structural, architectural and 3D. so here you go, spanish leaves.

yay the hydrangea’s have started to bloom and they are a wonderful mix of blue, violet, lime and pink all on one plant, even on just one bloom. how does that happen? that’s so much more than we bargained for. also the star-gazer lilies have made their first show and are they glorious. the palest of orange with spatterings of deepest purple. we at casa HPMcQ are very happy with our booming blooming garden right about now.

a couple of weeks back we did some potting. however we didn’t really know what the seeds were, as we had lost the labels. so we potted away anyway, and called it potting roulette!

below are some snap shots of where we are so far with the results, there are many more plants which have buds but haven’t flowered yet, so our potting roulette  continues!

today i’m going to take you to another garden that is not mine. a garden which covers 1.5 acres, with oak trees, fruit trees and a fully stocked stream. it’s just across the road from my office. i can see it from my window. this garden is split into 3 themed gardens, all with their very different and very individual characters and one has some interesting residents too.

our garden isn’t very big, it’s not even big, it’s actually very small. but we live in london so that’s pretty much the norm. however we are very lucky to live in apart of london where we are surrounded in green lushness pretty much everywhere we look. so when our garden proves to be too small for what we want or need to do, we look to our extended garden.
