the hot topic this week is all about mothers, working and what that all costs. weirdly on tuesday i pulled a piece of paper from my pocket to find OUCH. the very next day i received a call from LBC radio to chat to nick ferrari about childcare costs in the uk capital and what impact this is having on london families. two days later i get tagged in a meme, a mothers working meme to be precise. tagged by the daily mum and started by pret a mummy (bargain mummy) and mother.wife.me. spooky.
ouch
today out of my pocket i pulled the monthly invoice from the nursery. i tend to ignore this each month and just let it come out of the account without having to look at it too much, as it’s just too painful. normally it’s popped into ronnies bag and i put it up stairs in the study and it gets filed. however it wasn’t in his bag it had been handed to me personally and for some strange reason, today i decided to open the envelope and read it. how painful was it? it was one thousand, three hundred and eighty-one pounds and fifty-three pence worth of pain.
ouch
in need of a duvet day
its my birthday
i turned the grand old age of 30 and a little more 30 something in delhi airport this year.
not so rock n roll
am i always going in the opposite direction?
so here i am, my first day in delhi out of 6. it’s a familiar place for me. i have been travelling to delhi, twice or trice a year for around 10 years now. much has changed over the years and the city has grown at a rather ridiculous pace and it is very different to the early days of my travelling experiences. i love it and hate it. the mix had always been slightly heavier weighted toward the love of it but in recent years that has been changing to more to hatred of it each time i return.
ronnie and i went to the book shop
over christmas ronnie really started to love the gruffalo. all slightly engineered by me as i had booked tickets to see the theatre show, as an in between christmas and new year family treat. so in preparation we watched the gruffalo and the gruffalo’s child. he loved them. we had to watch them a fair few times. “more grufflao mummy more!”
