crafty christmas – dress up props

when i was in new york a couple of months back, i kept seeing a lot of photo booth prop kits popping up, seems to be a bit of a crazy at the moment i what i’m thinking, and they looked easy peasy to make so i thought i would make some for christmas to us and in the in-laws amused.

what you will need:

– card of various colours we have white, red & brown
– soft pencil and rubber
– scalpel or scissors
– rounded lollipop sticks
– double-sided tape
– glue stick
– colouring pencils, pens, paints what ever you fancy really even a spot of glitter wouldn’t go a miss

softly draw the outline of the design, we thought we would start with santas beard. make sure that you leave a long tape coming out of the side as you will need this to attach your design to the stick later. you can either decorate it before cutting it out or decorate after. we cut it out with a scalpel first and then gently rubbed out the pencil lines.

santas beardthen we drew back in the beard lines with a metallic pencil and glitter pen, and then added some curly wurly bits to the moustache.

cut out beardwe then flipped it over and put some double-sided tape on the back of the tab and rolled onto the lollipop stick. it looked great so we tried a santa hat and some antlers too.

finished dress upscan’t wait to have some fun with these on christmas day, guess i’ll have to find a box big enough to make a booth!
