jo whiley 26 hours on a tred mill

over the last few days penny, annie and tanya from team honk have been helping comic relief raise awareness and vital funds by visiting projects in tanzania, highlighting where #lastingchange is improving not just one person’s life but impacting on whole communities. these projects have helped women get jobs, start businesses and most importantly secure a future for their families and communities.

the gatsby trust trains and mentors women, helping them to get their business off the ground. it can be anything from soap making to textiles. over the last three years comic relief has awarded the gatsby trust a grant of £264,959 so that the trust can continue helping women in very challenging environments to change their lives.

well well well, what a day. jet lagged, daunted, belly laughs, tiring, surreal, emotional, cold, wet and very windy, but 15 miles later we made it. read about the full route here.

we started early at the comic relief headquarters, where we met with the sports relief team for some photos and a very quick interview. take a peak at the video they made below.

the morning was bright and sunny and we were rather hoping that it might stay that way all day long. however this was not to be, it rained, and it was very windy, but actually it didn’t dampen our spirits in any way what so ever as we marched our way through the streets of london.

on the 5th of february team honk in the form of honkopoly will be hitting the streets of london, you can read all about it here. however before the big event we thought we schould probably scope out the legs of our 15 mile route and that they are workable, and be sure of our meeting points, places where we can stop for a pee and somewhere to pick up teas & coffee.

i walked 15 miles around london today, preparing and checking the route for #honkopoly with sarah from grenglish and sophie from franglaise mummy. whilst walking from euston to kings cross we came across these guys on their skate boards, i caught this one mid-flight.
