so this week has been the mother of all count downs. everyday, without fail the two big questions have been asked.
“mummy am i going to big school today?”
“mummy are we going to kitty’s house today?”
“no, not today ronnie” was the answer to both questions, every morning, every afternoon and every evening. however this did not stop these questions being asked every morning, every afternoon and every evening. then finally today one of the answers was different. oh thank the lord the answer today to question number two was “yes ronnie, today we are going to see kitty!” joy joy joy, one question down, just one more to go and that one will go tomorrow too.
so finally, ronnie gets to see kitty. his airport romance. he has been so excited since the moment we got the message from jane her mummy to set the date. he carried her picture all the way to nursery and has asked about her everyday since. love.
we had arranged to meet in the play area of brockwell park, which is not too far from where we live. in the 6 and so years that we have lived in the area we had never been for some reason. real shame, it’s blooming gorgeous. we had arranged to meet at one, but i was having a picnic catastrophe at home, so we didn’t arrive ’till late, which was a poor poor show.
and then there they were. jane, roger and kitty!!! after all the anticipation of the week, ronnie turned all very shy, shy, but still fluttering those outrageous eyelashes of his, so i’m thinking really it was a kind of flirting. the sun was shining, the day was indeed glorious. we ate, we drank. jane had brought a sneaky bottle of rose which was rather lovely and hugely appreciated. the smalls played, they climbed, they ran, they played ball and badminton, they scooted, they played in the sand. we went for a wonder, they shared the scooter and stick until ronnie found one just for kitty, we had ice creams from brockwell house. they held hands. i think the date might have well been a success. hoorah!
Oh my, that is just too lovely for words 😀 x
they are quite the couple aren’t they!
