so a few weeks back it was oliver’s birthday. he’s a keen foodie and loves trying out new stuff and really does all the cooking in the house. so for his birthday i settled on a bit of a jamie oliver theme. oliver had attended westminster college with jamie but bowed out after jut 6 months as cubing a whole venison really didn’t shake his bones. i bought him a subscription to jamie’s magazine which is wonderfully put together, we went for some rather lovely grub at the newly opened barbecoa, with breathtaking views of st pauls cathedral
downe at the farm
can anyone remember such a glorious easter? the sun has shone, the paddling pool has been splashed in, kicka ball in the garden, the bbq’s lit a plenty & mucho cake eaten. the weekend has been good and then to top it all off to downe we went to xmastreefarm. now i haven’t been to a farm in years, actually that’s a bit of a porky we stayed on one over new year in helmsley north yorkshire…..but it wasn’t like this so i’m not going to count that one, however it did have a magnificant meat fridge but that’s another story……..so i haven’t been to a farm in years then! so the farm is situated in a lovely village called downe, which is very close to where oliver my husband grew up in keston. the farm is very well laid out and organised, it’s not a working farm more of a come see the animals farm. from the moment we arrived ronnie gave it the seal of approval as he came racing round the corner to see a little red tractor ride. “mummy come look it’s a red one!!! ronnie drive it?” and on he hopped. brum brum
oooo arghhhh jim lad
so motherhood wasn’t a planned thing, it sort of just came along, kinda just happened. i was speechless for days, my husband however was grinning like the proverbial cheshire cat. then i had to call my new employers who had waited 3 months for me to complete my notice period for then me to rock up and say “hi, i’m here and i’m up the duff!” whoo hoo lets celebrate wasn’t really the reaction i was expecting but what i did get was an unexpected “oh well shit happens”
the mummies on the bus
so people always say that children grow up and learn so fast and everyone goes yeah yeah yeah, well you know what? blooming heck they were right!
seriously, i only found out i was pregnant yesterday and then within a blink of an eye and a sneeze ronnie is 2 1/2 and we are having such conversations as:
ace cafe
today i was introduced to the ace cafe. why has it taken for me to get to 30 something and a little more something, years of age and only to have just discovered it.
it’s ace!
